Weekly remote learning task w/c 30th March
We would like to invite the children to watch Harold’s diary twice this week (see below).
After watching, we would like to ask them to write their own diary entry. Remember the features of a diary: start with the date and ‘Dear diary’. Write interesting sentences about what you have been doing during the day and try and remember to add wow words and conjunctions. If you really want to challenge yourself you might like to include some of our 'Words of the week' if you can remember them. By writing a diary entry you will be able to tell us about the wonderful things you are doing at home and how you are feeling. We really look forward to reading your diary entries!
Please email them to year1@fandb.herts.sch.uk
Harold's Daily Diary and resources for parents and teachers.
Harold – our happy, healthy giraffe mascot and a favourite with children – will be posting a daily blog: Harold’s Daily Diary – this started last Monday, 23rd March at 9am! Each day he’ll be giving children positive, fun messages about what he’s doing to stay happy and healthy while he’s off school, separated from his friends. He’ll invite the children to join in activities which will be family-friendly, varied and tailored to all ages.
Follow Harold on @CoramLifeEd (Twitter) or @CoramLifeEducation (Facebook) each day to see what Harold is up to!
Feel free to share the link with friends and family– it’s already live and Harold has put a little message on it! https://www.coramlifeeducation.org.uk/harolds-daily-diary
Year 1 topics 2019/2020
Welcome to Year 1. We will use these pages to explore with you the learning journey we go on in Year 1. We will look at all our super exciting topics and share some photos and work with you.
If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise!
This half term, we’ll visit a woodland, observe the wildlife, collect natural objects and take beautiful pictures of the things we see. After our woodland adventure, we’ll write about our experiences and learn all about trees.
